Information&Publications

The League of Women Voters of Queen Anne’s County was organized in early 2003.  We were brought together by the realization during the 2002 elections that our county was in need of voter services, particularly candidate and issue forums and voters’ guides. We were encouraged and nurtured by our sister LWV in Kent County, with whom we now share a number of activities. The LWVQAC has grown to over 40 members, many of whom are men.

Voters’ services remain our primary occupation. Beside voter registration drives and voting machines demonstrations, we have sponsored candidate forums for the House of Representatives, the state legislature, and QAC commissioners, as well as for the town councils of several of our municipalities. Our issue forums included hurricane preparedness, foreign policy, affordable housing, land and water resource management, and children’s services.  Besides the printed Voters’ Guide for the primary and general elections, which are distributed in newspapers prior to elections, the LWVQAC publishes an annual Guide to Your Elected Officials.
