The League of Women Voters of St. Mary's County, Maryland (LWV-St. Mary's County), is dedicated to providing well-researched and unbiased information so that all voters may become better informed.

During Elections, LWVSMC assists people to become more informed participants in their community and their government by:

  • producing Voters Guides;

  • assisting at voter registration drives and providing information about voting; 

  • and hosting forums for candidates.

LWVSMC also:

  • researches issues such as transportation, housing, environmental concerns, campaign reform, etc. then produces Fact Sheets;

  • conducts community forums on local, state, and national issues;

  • distributes informational brochures and pamphlets; and provides information about government on the national, state, and local levels.

LWV 2020 ELECTION IMPACT REPORT

 

2020 Election Impact: Protected over 25 million voters in 70+ lawsuits; proporcionó a 2.2 millones de personas herramientas de votación en español; educated over 6 million voters on vote411.org; supported 233,000 people in registering to vote; data collected from over 500 Leagues in an internal survey conducted following the 2020 election

During a global pandemic, LWV educated over 6 million and protected over 25 million voters. And for the first time, VOTE411 was fully translated to Spanish, providing over 2.2 million Spanish-speaking voters with the tools needed to cast their ballots.
